Scenario Planning in 2013

Peter Kennedy
Managing Principal

FSG is off to a busy start in 2013, with a range of both new projects and ongoing scenario-planning activities. For the U.S. Coast Guard, a longstanding client, FSG will be facilitating a range of Project Evergreen “Insight” workshops, designed to push out scenario-planning knowledge across the organization and to inform both strategic and operational decision-making.  FSG facilitated one such Insight workshop late in 2012, in support of a busy Coast Guard district facing significant future mission challenges.  Later this year, FSG will be drafting the update of the Coast Guard’s Evergreen doctrine book Creating and Sustaining Strategic Intent in the Coast Guard

FSG continues its partnership with Hassett Willis & Company in support of the Federal Emergency Management Association’s Strategic Foresight Initiative (SFI).  The SFI, now in its third year, is committed to advancing strategic thinking around future challenges confronting the emergency and disaster management community.

We’re also embarking on a new scenario-planning project in the healthcare sector.  This will doubtless stretch our imaginations about the evolution of healthcare and medicine over the next 10-20 years.

In-between consulting engagements we have a demanding writing schedule, including an article on scenario planning and quantitative modeling.  We will also keep the scenario and futures conversations alive on our blog.

Check us out.  And have a great year.
